Jumbo is a Dutch supermarket chain. The first Jumbo supermarket was established in 1979. It is now part of the privately owned Van Eerd Group. Van Eerd was originally a grocery wholesale company, established in 1921. Jumbo is a Dutch chain of supermarkets belonging to Jumbo Groep Holding B.V., which is owned by Stichting Administratiekantoor Van Eerd Groep Holding. With a market share of 21%  it is the second largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands. In 2020, approximately 85,000 people worked at Jumbo altogether. In 2019 the company opened its first store in Belgium.
